THE UNIVERSITY OF CAMBODIA LAUCHED THE
THE EXAMINATION OF 500 OF
SAMDECH TECHO HUN SEN-HARUHISA HANDA NATIONAL
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2009-2013
PHNOM PENH: Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, President, The University of Cambodia, has publicly announced to all high school students throughout the country to be aware that during the academic year 2009-2010, The University of Cambodia will conduct the examination of “Samdech Techo Hun Sen - Haruhisa Handa 500 National Scholarships to study 4 year program of bachelor degree at the University of Cambodia. From 2009 to 2013.
Such an announcement was officially declared in the afternoon of August the 1st, during a press conference at the Conference Center of the University of Cambodia. All of high school students who will be passed their High School Diplomas in 2009 would be able apply for these scholarship examination.
Dr. Kao Kim Hourn continued his announcement by saying that these scholarships could be achieved due to the high view of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, for the promotion of the quality of education and providing aid to high school student throughout the country to continue their studies at the higher educational level. And also, these 500 of National Scholarships could be provided because of the generous support of Dr. Haruhisa Handa, President, the International Foundation for Arts and Culture, Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, President of the University of Cambodia, reiterated that this was the third time that Dr. Haruhisa Handa has funded 500 scholarships for Khmer students throughout the country to continue their studies at the Higher Educational Level. These 500 scholarships will be divided to six faculties of the University of Cambodia. The numbers are divided into 80 scholarships for the Faculty of Arts and Humanity, 80 for the Faculty of Management, 90 for the Faculty of Education, 80 for the Faculty of Law and 90 for the Faculty of Science and Technology.
Regarding the conditions of the selection of candidates, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, President of the University of Cambodia, affirmed that all student who will be passed their 2009 high school diplomas might apply for the examination. The application forms for this scholarship are sold from now on till the 13th of September 2009 at the University of Cambodia. Along with the application forms, the student have to attach the copy of their provisional diplomas ( or attached later) and 4 (4x6) photographs.
For the examination subject, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, President of the University of Cambodia said that, there were only General Knowledge and English Language. The date of the examination will be held on Wednesday, September 16, and the announcement of the result will come out on Wednesday, September 30. And while the name list of the students who passed the scholarship examination was announced, the class will begin on October 19, 2009 at the University of Cambodia.
