The School of Business (formerly the College of Public and Business Administration) has a threefold mission:
1. to attract, educate, and train high-quality individuals to become ethical leaders in the public and private sectors
2. to do research so as to advance knowledge, by using strong conceptual foundations to identify and solve management problems - focusing on national, regional, and global issues
3. to act as a focal point for developing the capacity of Cambodia’s human resources in the fields of management, accounting, and economics.
Two-thirds of all Bachelor’s courses taken are common for all students of the College. They involve introductory courses in various disciplines, designed to provide the necessary background for further in-depth study in one of the offered disciplines in School of Business’s areas of concentration. They also aim to encourage the development of basic analytical, quantitative and computing skills. By the end of these, students will have developed a broad understanding of basic business principles, and so will be better able to make an informed choice regarding an area of specialization that suits their interests and career objectives.
The remainder of the program provides an in-depth study of a particular area of concentration, to compliment the student’s breadth of knowledge across all functional areas of a business enterprise. During their final year, students have the option of undertaking a project under the supervision of a faculty member.
1. DEGREE OFFERINGS

2. ADMISSION AND DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
In order to be admitted to study for a Bachelor’s degree, an applicant must have a high school diploma or an equivalent; and take and pass the University of Cambodia Undergraduate Entrance Examination (under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport) and the University of Cambodia English Placement Exam.
New students must spend their first year fulfilling the Foundation Year Program’s requirements, as specified by the Accreditation Committee of Cambodia: this comprises eight General Education courses and two oriented subjects related to the student’s major: ACC101 (Principles of Accounting) and BUS101 (Introduction to Business). A student must pass the Foundation Year in order to proceed into the second year programme.
In addition to the Foundation Year and other General Education requirements set by the University of Cambodia, Bachelor’s degree candidates in the School of Business are required to take a minimum of a further 48 credit hours (the equivalent of sixteen courses) in their respective major. Of the other eleven elective courses (33 credits) which the student must take, up to a maximum of six courses (18 credits) can be from within the same College.
3. ACCOUNTING
All accounting is characterized by compiling, analyzing, and reporting on the financial condition of the many functions of companies, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and individuals. Accounting services thus generally include independent auditing, tax advice and tax return preparation, financial and management consulting, and entrepreneurial services.
The Accounting program at the University of Cambodia considers the processes involved in the collection, organization, and presentation of financial information for effective decision-making. It thus prepares students for careers such as the independent practice of public accounting, controllership, and general accounting management.
Apart from fulfilling the Foundation Year and General Education requirements, students doing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting must take ten other major core courses (30 credits), along with six major elective courses (18 credits). Of the remaining eleven elective courses (33 credits) which the student must take, up to a maximum of six courses (18 credits) can be from within the same College major elective

4. BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
The Business Management program is designed for students who aspire to eventually holding managerial positions in various private-sector organizations, be they small or large, local or international.
It thus aims to give a solid grounding in business theory, and how this is put into practice in various types of applied situations. The coverage also ensures that a student gets a good foundation into other aspects of running a business, including – for example – keeping accounts, human resource management, and the use of technological applications.
Apart from fulfilling the Foundation Year and General Education requirements, students doing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management must take ten other major core courses (30 credits), along with six major elective courses (18 credits). 5. ECONOMICS

6. FINANCE AND BANKING
The Finance and Banking program prepares students for management careers in the financial services industry, and also in the public sector. It is designed to equip the student with both theoretical and practical knowledge of how the rapidly-changing financial services industry affects, and is affected by, the modern business environment. The theoretical base is counterbalanced by courses relating to financial institutions and the relationships between these institutions. Students are thus familiarized with advanced problem-solving techniques, and trained in ways of transforming relevant information into coherent decision-making.

7. HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT

8. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
The Human Resource Management (HRM) Program prepares students for a career in the management of human resources in organizations. Among other things, students will learn to understand people’s behavior, in particular in a working environment; to improve the working conditions of people; to understand the Cambodian working environment and to identify career opportunities; to identify social problems; to communicate clearly and meaningfully with people; to undertake planning, recruitment and selection of human resources professionally, tocarry out the awareness of compensation and benefits, health safety as well as to deal with problems in labor relations.
The BA programme will provide the students with the skills and knowledge to operate in a professional capacity in HRM, which plays a vital role in the performance of today’s organizations considering the impact of globalization, i.e., the diverse workforce. The course covers both specialized areas in human resource and general management which ensures the students to have the flexibility to pursue a generalist management or specialist HR role.
Apart from fulfilling the Foundation Year and General Education requirements, students doing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management must take ten other major core courses (30 credits), along with six major elective courses (18 credits). Of the remaining eleven elective courses (33 credits) which the student must take, up to a maximum of six courses (18 credits) can be from within the same College major elective.

9. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
The International Business Program is designed for students who wish to focus their Business Administration degree on courses which include an international component. Moreover, this concentration of study also provides for developing a background in a foreign language and geo-political studies, both important factors when considering a career in business with an international twist.

10. MARKETING
The Marketing program aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the principles and practice of marketing for students who have a foundation of business knowledge. It thus is concerned with a detailed consideration of marketing concepts and techniques; an understanding of the role of marketing within an organizational context; and how this knowledge can be applied in a range of specialist marketing environments. The program produces highly practical marketing graduates.
