Journal of Cambodian Studies - Call for Papers- for January 2012

Journal of Cambodian Studies

"Call for Papers"

A bi-annual interdisciplinary journal, the Journal of Cambodian Studies (JCS) covers an array of disciplines focused squarely on the Asia-Pacific region with punctuated attention to Southeast Asian affairs. To honor fidelity in true knowledge promotion, the JCS covers a broad range of topics spanning the globe, with attention drawn back to the Asia-Pacific region. Priority decisions are given to manuscripts focused on Southeast Asia and Cambodia.

Twice a year, the JCS is published in January and July of each calendar year. In traditional academic fashion, this academic journal serves as a forum for scholars, researchers, and thinkers to impart knowledge regarding pressing concerns in an era of increased globalization.

The Journal accepts manuscripts from broad are

Submission Guidelines

Authors must follow the APA style (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th edition, 2009). Manuscripts must run between 20 and 40 pages (excluding references and appendices), double spaced, 12-point font, 1 inch margins on all sides, typed for A4 sized paper. Manuscripts should be submitted in MS Word, WordPerfect or RTF format.  The Journal does not accept PDFs.

Text should be written clearly for a broad readership, but it must also be concise:  any additional, descriptive or explanatory passages (to provide background information to aid understanding) should appear as part of the footnotes, designated by numeric superscripts, to maintain the flow of text.

Author identification
Names of the author(s) should only be indicated on the title page.  No clues as to author identity should be indicated outside of the title page.  Footnotes that explicitly identify the author(s) or institutional affiliation should be placed on a separate page(s).  This supports anonymity in the review process.

Timeframe for Submission

Publications are in March and September.  Deadlines for journal manuscripts will be made available with each "Request for Submission."  As a general rule, manuscripts should be submitted no later than one month prior to the deadline.

 Abstract
Author(s) are required to submit an abstract of no longer than 150 words.  The abstract should follow APA style, and should be placed on a separate page, following the title page.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be typed on a separate sheet and attached at the end of the manuscript (after the references). Final electronic versions of both tables and figures must be high-quality and camera-ready.

Multiple Submissions

Once submitted to JCS for review, manuscripts are not allowed to be submitted elsewhere. Manuscripts may be subject to disqualification should this occur.  However, authors can submit to other journals once a final decision has been weighed by the editors of the JCS.  Authors may choose to retract submissions through a formal request prior to but not following final publication acceptance and agreement.  All materials belong to the JCS and its affiliate, the University of Cambodia, once they have been submitted for review. Submitted manuscripts and/or supplemental materials will not be returned to authors, once the review process has been completed.

Authors are encouraged to submit more than one manuscript for review at a time to the Journal of Cambodian Studies.
