Dr. Kao Kim Hourn Receives the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology University
Most Prestigious Honorary Doctorate Degree

“There is no guarantee in life, but everything is possible. So, learn to make the impossible possible.”

In a Commencement Ceremony conducted by the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) at Southeast Asia Television Studio, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn (Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister  and President of the University of Cambodia) received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Literature.

“This is the most prestigious honor the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology University gives out to who we believe are the most outstanding individuals giving back to its community,” Dr. Achyuta Samanta (Founder of KIIT University and KISS, India) said. This year we are happy to bestow the Honorary Doctorate Degree onto Excellency Dr. Kao Kim Hourn. In Dr. Kao Kim Hourn’s acceptance speech the message was simple,

“Your life journey is what you
make of it…Live your life to
the fullest…Dare to do what
others only dream of doing,
and remember that nothing is
guaranteed, but everything is
possible...learn to make the
impossible possible.”

At the end of his address he informed everyone that “the University of Cambodia and the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology University have been pioneering a new relationship in the education sector, with the aim to enhance knowledge and understanding through faculty, staff, and student exchanges. I am excited about the educational opportunities that lie ahead for all of us. Dr. Samanta, Ambassador Dinesh Pattnaik, I accept this Honorary Doctorate in Literature with great honor to help forge our educational commitment to our students and our respected countries,” Dr. Kao said.

Prior to the end of the closing ceremony, Lok Chum Teav Khem Rany (Director-General of SEATV) presented gifts to Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Ambassador Dinesh Patnaik, and Mr. Dwiti Vikramaditya. The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Honorary Doctorate has been given out to only an elite few individuals throughout the world. This list include His Excellence Lyonchhen Jigmi Y. Thinley (Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Bhutan), His Excellency Mr. Ghulam Farooq Wardak (Minister of Education of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan), Dr. Kee Sun Ham (President of Hanseo University, South Korea), Dr. Baidyanath Mishra (Eminent Economist, Bhubaneswar), Dr. N.L. Mitra (Chancellor, KIIT University), Dr. P.P. Mathur (Vice Chancellor, KIIT University), and now His Excellency Dr. Kao Kim Hourn (Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister and President of The University of Cambodia).
