Study Abroad Scholarship Event

On Wednesday, March 30th, 2016, over 100+ students attended the Study Abroad Scholarship Event in the UC Conference Hall. The topic of the event was, “How to win a scholarship to study abroad.” The guest speakers were Bun Sambath, on “Prepa-ration for Scholarships, Accessing Information, and Interview Techniques;” Ieng Malin, on “How to get a high score on the IELTS test;” and Eng Linda, on “How to get accepted into an exchange program.”

Ieng Malin, a current UC student who scored very high on her IELTS test, and is getting ready to go abroad to study in America. Bun Sambath, and Eng Linda, both study abroad alumni, reaffirmed that they are especially committed to share their study abroad experiences with UC students, and to work with UC students to obtain scholarships abroad. The over-arching theme of the event was that studying abroad is a crucial aspect of Cambodian development. Bun Sambath, Ieng Malin and Eng Linda are very keen on returning to the UC campus for other presentations, and/or to help students directly.

The Skills and Career Development Center (SCDC) would like to express its sincere appreciation to Bun Sambath, Ieng Malin, and Eng Linda for volunteering their time to help motivate, encourage and educate other UC students.

Through joint participation and cooperation, we can make a difference in our students’ skills and career development. SCDC would like to thank all participants for joining the event. Together, we can ensure students’ success in the 21st century.
