Conferred With a Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Monisaraphon

19 November 2008 (Phnom Penh) - The University of Cambodia is pleased to announce that Dr. Rikhi Thakral, Executive Director of the Thakral Group of Companies based in Singapore, has been conferred with a Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Monisaraphon by His Majesty Samdech Preah Boramaneath NORODOM SIHAMONI, King of Cambodia, for his significant contribution to the social welfare and education of Cambodia over years, in particular for his support in providing university scholarships to the Cambodian students.

Samdech Akka Moha Senai Pedai Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will present this Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Monisaraphon to Dr. Rikhi Thakral during the official Ceremony of the Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s Vision – 100 Scholarships on November 20, 2008, in Phnom Penh, where the 100 students will also receive their scholarship certificates from the Prime Minister.

The Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Monisaraphon is the highest award in this important category of the Royal Order of Monisaraphon by His Majesty Samdech Preah Boramaneath NORODOM SIHAMONI, King of Cambodia.

It is also important to note that Dr Rikhi Thakral received an honorary doctoral degree in humanities from The University of Cambodia in 2004, along with Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
